Denise Dionne ( born 1963) grew up in Ridgefield, CT and now lives in South Portland, ME. She studied at MECCA, previously known as Portland School of Art when it was in the Calderwood building. After graduating, she traveled and lived in multiple places around the US, from Nantucket to Honolulu. She continued her work through studying and teaching at several places, including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts (ME) and Boulder Potters Guild (CO).
An essential part of Denise’s inspiration stems through her love and respect of the water. This passion, along with the supportive art communities, called her back to the coast of Maine to continue her art. In the comfort of her studio, she continues to dedicate and focus her time and spirit on creating beauty. The beauty she sees in life is carried through her work and continues to live through others.
